What a limited company accountant does

For a typical owner-managed company, an accountant handles the recurring statutory work so you don’t have to — and makes sure it’s right and on time:

  • Annual (statutory) accounts prepared and filed at Companies House
  • Corporation Tax return (CT600) and computations filed with HMRC
  • Confirmation statement checked and filed
  • Bookkeeping, payroll and VAT where you need them
  • Director Self Assessment for your dividends and other income
  • Dealing with HMRC and Companies House as your authorised agent
  • Advising on salary vs dividends and legitimate ways to reduce tax

Our fixed fees — no surprises

ServiceFixed fee
Year-end accounts + Corporation Tax return (micro-entity)£399 + VAT
Director Self Assessment (SA100)£199 + VAT
Dormant company accounts£80 + VAT

Fees are one-off per filing and agreed before work starts — no monthly subscription. Bookkeeping, payroll and VAT are quoted to fit what you actually need.

How accountant costs compare

What we need from you to prepare your accounts

Usually just your records for the year:

  • Business bank statements for the year
  • Sales invoices raised and purchase invoices/receipts
  • Access to your bookkeeping software if you use one (Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent)
  • Details of any assets bought, loans, or money taken out of the company
  • Last year’s accounts and your company number and UTR

We tell you exactly what’s needed for your situation — and nothing more. Tidy records keep the fixed fee fixed.

Online or local — both work

Everything can be done securely online: you share records through the cloud and we file digitally, so you never have to post paperwork or take time off to visit an office. We’re a Sheffield-based practice acting for companies across the UK, so being local is a bonus if you want it, not a requirement.

Switching to us is easy

If you already have an accountant, moving is simple and needn’t wait for your year end. We request the handover information from your current accountant (a routine step called professional clearance), pick up where they left off, and make sure nothing is missed in the transition. You don’t need everything in perfect order to switch — that’s our job.

How to choose a limited company accountant

  • A real, named practice you can phone — not an anonymous website
  • Clear, fixed pricing agreed before work starts
  • You approve before anything is filed — you stay in control
  • They handle both Companies House and HMRC, and deal with queries
  • They flag tax savings you’d otherwise miss
